Usually when a Princess says "Ritual" her Knight will already be aroused, and it will be easy and a pleasure for him to obey her command.

A fun exception can take place first thing in the morning before the Knight has fully woken up. Even a Knight who often becomes aroused in the morning is likely to sometimes be unaroused when he first starts to wake up.

It is not as easy for a half-awake, unaroused Knight to obey Ritual.
 
 
If, until he becomes aroused, things only go as far as the Ritual Cuddle, cuddling so intimately without being aroused will probably feel a bit strange for the Knight.

Of course in this position he is likely to become aroused, and so the strangeness will not last for long.
 
 
It is even stranger for the Knight if his Princess opens her legs as she says "Ritual" and, while still half asleep and not yet aroused, he finds himself giving a morning Pleasure Kiss.

Of course he will soon become aroused, and it will then feel `normal´. But his initial feelings of strangeness may linger.
 
 
A common misconception by those first reading about Devotional Sex is that when a Knight is commanded to do a sensual or sexual activity he is being made to do something that he does not want to do.

The reality is very different. Because a Knight always has erotic energy, he almost always relishes the opportunity to do an activity. Hence, for example, hearing the word "Ritual" is almost always a pleasure for a Knight.

Hearing "Ritual" first thing in the morning when he is unaroused is one of the very few times that having to obey a Devotional Sex command feels strange.

Having lived for several years in a Devotional Relationship I can say that the other strange thing is that it still feels natural to obey the command. Hundreds of times of obeying Ritual when I wanted to means that when I am not prepared it still seems normal to obey.
 
 
There are several reasons why a Princess might say "Ritual" before her Knight is aroused in the morning.

• She might already be feeling a bit aroused herself and want to start the morning with some Ritual.
   
• Or perhaps she is also not fully awake and wants to wake up properly while receiving a Pleasure Kiss.
   
• Or she might enjoy testing her Knight's obedience, and like the idea of him obeying her before he is aroused.
   
• Finally, she might like the idea of him waking up while kissing her Pleasure.

Which ever reason, or it might be more than one, it can be an interesting experience for both if a Princess sometimes says "Ritual" before her Knight is aroused.
