His partner never feeling dominant
The
most likely reason for the Supplicant Knight's partner not wanting to
be his Princess is that she does not want to take a dominant role (and
perhaps does not want to see her partner as being submissive). So an
important part of being a Supplicant Knight is to ensure that his
partner never feels that she has to be dominant or that he is wanting
her to be dominant.
Thus a Supplicant Knight should be pro-active in suggesting sexual activities (including activities which pleasure him). He should engage in just a little negotiation when his partner suggests something he does not like, and he should always show enthusiasm for doing any activity which she suggests that he does like.
