The Knight who is lent or swapped has the adventure and pleasure of serving another Princess.
Doing things with a new person makes everything feel novel and much more exciting.
For example, it is fun for a Knight to be told to Reveal by his Princess, but hearing "Reveal" from a temporary Princess is much more exciting, and perhaps even slightly scary.
A Knight with a temporary Princess will be on his best behavior because he wants to impress his temporary Princess and make his own Princess proud of him.
