Changing the rules - additional restrictions

A host can decide to add new restrictions so that the party is milder than the default.

The whole point of having a Devotional Sex party is to gain prior consent from everyone who attends the party to be able to do some activities in a social setting which would normally only be done in private.

If you don't want to allow any such activities, then it becomes just an ordinary social gathering.

If you want to play the Truth game without allowing anyone to do any normally private activities, then offer or accept to play just the Truth game, but don't call this a Devotional Sex party.

The default rules in practice

The default rules allow many things to be done, including some kinky enhancements.

But what might at one party be great fun for everyone, might at another party seem extreme and spoil the mood.

Rather than thinking carefully about each possibility, and writing a legal document about what is allowed and is not, the default rules are meant to be applied using common sense together with an awareness of how others are feeling.

The default rules advice a Princess to ask the party what they think about any more edgy activities before she does them.
And under the default rules a host can say no to, or stop, any activity.

Note that though the default rules allow explicit touching and oral sex, at a party such activity is meant to be done in a teasing or sensual manner, so you don't need to add a new restriction to prevent full-on sexual activity.

So in practice, something unsuitable for a party is unlikely to be started. And if a host decides that a more edgy activity is not what they want at their party, they can say no at the time without having had to ban that activity before the party.

Given this, it will usually work very well in practice to hold a party under the default rules, and adding further restrictions before the party will be an exception rather than common practice.

A minimal party

As the whole point of a party is to allow some activities to be enjoyed in a social setting that otherwise could only be done in private, I recommend that some core activities always be allowed at a party.

My recommendation is that at a minimum, a  Devotional Sex party should allow:

  • The Truth game - this is what makes the talk at a party different from just a social gathering

  • Couples showing their dynamic, for example by a Knight sitting at his Princess's feet or giving her a foot massage

  • Affirmation - this is the physical and visual difference between a party and a social gathering. Full nudity is needed to properly have the Knight feel vulnerable and exposed, so it is strongly recommended that the host does not set a rule such as the Knight's must keep their underwear on.

  • Aroused Knight's - Part of being a Knight is his freedom to become aroused. In a social setting arousal is forbidden, so a Knight being able to become aroused is another thing that makes a party different.
A minimal party would allow all of the above, but nothing else.

This means that the Princesses would have to remain fully dressed, and they would not be allowed to touch their Knight's sexually.

Though a Knight's arousal is accepted, blatant displays of this are not allowed. So the Display command is not allowed, but it is quiet OK for a Knight to have an erection while he gives his Princess a foot massage.

New restrictions, or a list of allowed activities

One way for a host to let people know that this party will not allow everything that can happen under the default party rules is to add some new activities to the list of banned activities.

if the host wishes to not allow most activities, it would be easier to say that only those things listed above as the minimal activities are allowed, or only these activities plus the some others that are also listed.

Activities which may not be allowed

Activities which are allowed under the default party rules, that a host may want to restrict include:
  • Princess full or partial nudity - the default rules allow a Princess anything up to full nudity. A host might want all Princess to remain fully dressed

  • Display - even though Knightly arousal is allowed even under the minimal rules, a host may prefer this to be kept in the background and not brought center stage as done with a Display

  • Teasing - no teasing of a Knight to make him get more aroused

  • Touching - no sexual touching

  • Submissive Cuddles

  • Desire Kissing

  • Adore

  • Pleasure Kissing

  • Activities with others - a Princess and her Knight can do what they want with each other, but no activity is allowed with others

  • Enhancements, or only some enhancements. Some of the enhancements of Chapter 13 could be performed at a Devotional Sex party under the default rules. A host may wish to ban some of these.
