A couple with a Devotional Friend
A
Devotional Friend is someone you don't have a romantic relationship
with but act as Princess and Knight together so that you can enjoy some
sensual and erotic pleasures.
Activities with the Devotional Friend only take place when all three are present, though one of the couple may be just an observer.

If a friend joins a couple for a Devotional Sex party or some informal fun, the friend is not part of the couples erotic power dynamic. So at a party a female friend cannot tell the Knight what to do, and a male friend does not have to obey the Princess.
But a person who joins a couple as their Devotional Friend becomes part of the erotic power dynamic. If the friend is male the Princess has Princess Power over him. And if the friend is female she is given Princess Power over the Knight.
Another difference between a Devotional Sex party and activities with a Devotional Friend is that what happens at a party should remain just `living room activities´, while with a Devotional Friend things may, if everyone consents, progress to some `bedroom activities´.
But, as with all Devotional Sex, what happens is up to the Princess(es) to decide, and if they wish, things will remain mild.
If you are enjoying some informal fun with a friend, as a big suggestion you could see if they would like to become a part of your power dynamic.
If the Princess wishes, or allows, it can be her Knight who initiates and leads the conversation with the potential Devotional Friend.
As with all Devotional Sex with others, the way you suggest this possibility to your friend may make all the difference to whether or not they accept your offer. (More)

having a Devotional Friend is that it enables some activities to take
place without things going further than the Princess wishes.
This means that activities practiced with a Devotional Friend may remain fairly mild.

As with all Devotional Sex, everything done with the couple and their friend is fully consensual.
Part of the couple's negotiation with each other may be that activities with a Devotional Friend are ok as long as they do not progress beyond, for example, Erotic Fun. Or a couple may have decided that some sexual activity with a Devotional Friend is allowed as long as this is done with the other person present.
Especially if the Devotional Friend is male, the Knight may set limits for what his Princess can do with the friend.
Then, as with all Devotional Sex, what actually happens is up to the Princess(es) to decide as long as it remains within the Knight(s) limits. So of course much less might happen than the Knight(s) allow or would like.
And, as with a single person having a Devotional Friend, things never goes as far as Joy, and the Knight(s) never ejaculate during a session. (More)

A very different dynamic is created if a couple give their friend erotic power over both of them.
In normal Devotional Sex the Princess is always the person with the erotic power. Giving the Devotional Friend power over her gives her the very different experience of being under someone else's control.
A Princess may relish this opportunity to enjoy some erotic submission. And doing this with a friend is extra exciting because her Knight gets to see her in this different role. (More)
Two couples could get together as Devotional Friends. In this case each Princesses would have Princess Power over both Knights. This dynamic would be most fun when each Princess enjoyed some activities with the borrowed Knight.
Note that the limits may have been set so that one couple is allowed to go much further than the other. And even if the limits for everyone are the same, it would be an interesting dynamic if one couple went much further than the other. (More)
If everyone agrees, one of the couple can enjoy activities with the Devotional Friend without their partner being present.
If the Knight sees a female Devotional Friend alone this would be similar to Knight lending, and if the Princess sees a male Devotional Friend alone this would be similar to a Princess enjoying a borrowed Knight.
